I See Stars – “3D” – SXSW 2010 Showcasing Artist

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under independent music artist | 18 Comments »

I See Stars has been working very hard on the long awaited release of their first full length album. The forthcoming album is titled 3D. The album strays away from all the musical features you are used too, blending all genres of music, in hopes to set the bar for a new unique sound. Since there has been a surplus of “electronica/hardcore” music, the pages will be turned again, and new eyes will be opened, to bands and fans alike. Catch them on tour this summer! They will be doing nationwide tours the whole season. Tour dates go up very soon! Continue to support, and keep your eyes out for the upcoming tour dates and their debut Sumerian Records release!!!

The Matches What Katie Said Music Video DIR CUT

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under music videos artist | 25 Comments »

DIRECTOR’S CUT
The Matches “What Katie Said” Music Video
directed by Lady Ransom
http://www.ladyransom.com

Lady Ransom was commissioned by The Matches to shoot the video for What Katie Said. The video was shot on January 13th and 14th of 2007. Because of low budget restraints, the post effects were started but never finished by an fx artist who was doing the work for free in his spare time. Unfortunately the visual fx artist committed to the job but could not finish, forcing a huge delay in release. The band in July of 2007 took over the post fx and Lady Ransom hired, Jason Forman to finish their director’s cut. The band has the same exact footage. Our director’s cut was finished mid February of 2008. This video isn’t leaked by any means, it’s sole purpose is to showcase the directors work, as negotiated with the label and the band. Because of the delay in release, and the timing it had with the band’s release of their new album and new music video, they weren’t going to release anything off the old album. The timing was terrible and the delay was extremely unfortunate. With respect of the new album coming out, Lady Ransom in good faith with Epitaph did not make public their Director’s cut until now. We hope however that the Matches fans out there like this video! The Matches are very talented and were great to work with and we wish them all the best luck with their new album. We had a whole crew of people working really hard on this video and for nothing at all, other than to make something fun and creative for everyone to enjoy. So with that said! ENJOY! and please check out our other videos!

Breathe Carolina – “Hello Fascination” – SXSW 2010 Showcasing Artist

Posted by admin on March 6th, 2010 and filed under independent music artist | 25 Comments »

When Dave Schmitt and Kyle Even formed Breathe Carolina in 2007 they didn’t anticipate that their project started “just for fun” would explode into an internationally sought-after band in just two short years. But like all the best, most exciting new bands, Breathe Carolinas unprecedented story began with a fan-base that grew organically, fueled by an enviable, rapidly spreading word-of-mouth, and the undeniable spark of something unique.
The story of Breathe Carolina is a modern day music fairytale of two friends who recorded tracks on GarageBand at home in Denver, CO, put them on to MySpace and rapidly gained a huge online following that transformed their hobby into a career, and them into stars. We got started just by hanging out, reflects Kyle. We just sat in a room and threw ideas back and forth, and had to take trips to the library to talk to people online because we didn’t have internet at our house. We honestly weren’t expecting anything, we just made some songs and people started hitting us up about them. It’s been way crazier than anything we could have imagined it to be.
