Why is it ok in rap music for the ‘artist’ to spew filth about women of all races, but wrong for others ?

oh, its never okay. but people want to make it okay…because they like the music…but they try and try so hard to ignore the lyrics…their like in denial about it. they just dont wanna quit listening to it because they like the music…so they ignore the lyrics and continue to support the artist and give him money for such filthy lyrics. and most of the time…in rap music…the’beat’ isnt even made by the artist…its just something that came out of the sound-studio. the lyrics are whats made by the artist…which are filthy.

It’s not. But music is "art", and spoken filth is an "opinion" (I’m assuming you are refering to Imus).

No one said it was okay…the way you stop it it, is to NOT buy it….but no one ever said it was okay to disrespect women!!!!! Should we always bring the rap industry in it, whenever there is a dispute about the way black women are portayed….two wrongs dont make a right!!!!

I too want to know the answer to this one…I was watching the View this morning & Rosie asked the same very valid question…."Why is it ok for black rappers to call women every degrading word in the book but when Don Imus says something bad about black women, it is wrong, they are in an uproar, the NAACP is involved et et et….I would like to know this answer as well…its alll a bunch of hypocrisy if u ask me!!
