depends on what you’re trying to do…like, if you wanna make beats or just record vocals. i’ll break down both:

    making beats:
reason 4.0 is the industry standard
    fl studio is really good
    cubase is decent
(there are others but these are the most commonly used)

    recording:
pro tools is the industry standard
    adobe audition is really good
    audacity is decent (and free)

all that is just software, there are other options if you factor in hardware (i.e. mpc, midi keyboards, ect).

software: Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, any decent DAW is possible really.
    hardware: MPC, turntables

If you’re looking to pick software to use make sure to try some demos. Don’t get fooled thinking whatever the big boys use will work for you. i.e. FL Studio has a bit of a "toy" stigma, but some big names also use it. That however doesn’t mean that it’ll work for you, everyone has a different way of working with music.

In case you like FL Studio and you want to get it, here’s 10% discount on it: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=BACJBAA468
