The sensitivity …
The sensitivity excuded through his lyrics and music ARE SUBSTANTIAL! Who are you, the Dali Lama! What’s substantial about YOU?

shelby 11211 …
shelby 11211 probably hasn’t been to one of his concerts…soft rock..huh? I agree Defying Gravity might not have the edgy-ness of Love,Pain did, but there are some great tracks on it. No one complains when Brad Paisley cranks out some fodder like Check You For Ticks…I can take a couple of simplistic songs like Sweet Thing or Kiss a Girl here and there. If you dont like them, just imagine listening without the lyrics…great music. I like the way you roll, KU.

I have every one of …
I have every one of his albums and love them all, however, his live performances in concert is what puts him in my favorite Entertainer Ever category, just phenominal in concert!!!! You could go to 3 or 10 of his concerts on the same tour and always walk away with something different and that great feeling that I simply can’t explain, what a humble man he is as well, love ya Keith!!!!

*sigh* Oh MY …
*sigh* Oh MY goodness. How did I KNOW this was gonna start? Listen, I need no lectures on the life & times of Keith Urban, hon. I was in rooms with him with less than ten people – from the very beginning, I GUARANTEE you, before anyone on this page ever even heard of his name. I don’t need any advice on what to “expect” from Keith Urban either, hon – you’re preaching to the choir. I merely agreed with the comment made by philipsmog, and I stand by that. The lyrics are lacking substance.

my goodness! his …
my goodness! his lyrics are just as good as ever! he writes from a very honest place so if youre looking for sad songs look somewhere else, or maybe he ll record something someone else wrote, but dont expect him to write about something he doesnt feel

But to see him so …
But to see him so happy and clean now, I will settle for the silly ear-candy of late.

I didn’t want to …
I didn’t want to say it, but I agree with this comment; I’ve been very disappointed with the spiral of his lyrics. The, what, three releases off the new album… the lyrics are just… silly anymore. And *I* was one of those “three people in an audience” way back when, so no need to bite my head off, anybody :-/ . I’m just sayin’. He has a beautiful life now, and it seems the meaningful songwriting has left with the pain.

@ LburgBandMom2011 …
@ LburgBandMom2011 you took the words right out of mouth. I always get that I like him for his looks. However, I truly love his voice and music. He’s an awesome guitar player and he truly entertains the crowds. The fact that he is great looking is just an added bonus. I had to go out and buy another copy of defying gravity because I played my first one two many times. I think my ipod just knows to play his music. Love You Keith!

he’s a stellar …
he’s a stellar musician, inventive guitarist, good singer and melodist, and his songs are catchy and he respects the classic elements of country, but i wish he would work with some more sophisticated lyricists like Patty Griffin or whomever, his lyrics are too cliched and simplistic.

Keith Urban is a …
Keith Urban is a country artist. If you truly listen to his music, you will hear instruments like banjos, fiddles, etc. How many “soft rock” artists write music using those instruments regularly? Some of his songs (God’s Been Good To Me, Country Comfort, Where The Blacktop Ends) clearly reflect his country sound. Women do not like Keith Urban simply because he is attractive. Women (and men) like Keith because he’s got talent. He’s an amazing songwriter, musician, and performer.

@Shelby – Keith is …
@Shelby – Keith is one of the most versatile artists out there and is WIDELY respected by players and studio execs all over. And most of his female fan base appreciates him for his MUSIC, not just his looks, tho that’s icing on the cake. His voice, expression and delivery was what drew me to his music first, his songwriting is universal, and his stage presence is phenomenal. I’m thrilled he won this award, THIS year. Totally deserving.

Keith is soft rock …
Keith is soft rock no matter what you all say. He would have a hard time keeping up with the other soft rock preformers if he was in the right music class. You women only see him for his looks nothing more.

I am a huge Keith …
I am a huge Keith Urban fan!! If you knew his music (all of it not just his hits) you would realize that he is definately a country artist. He is an awesome guitar player which can sound like rock but his roots are country. He uses a banjo in alot of his songs and that is country for sure. Being good looking has nothing to do with anything. Thats just a plus to his amazing talent!! Congrads to Keith!!!

I like keith urban …
I like keith urban but he is not country he is soft rock at best. Its hard for mr to believe people find him country. I think they only let him get away with it becasue he is good looking but he should be on the soft rock charts not country.
