What artists do you recommend?

I listen to Flatliners, but that’s cause I just joined their group. .

I also listen to the stuff on http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/
On the right side they have all the indie submissions. Sony Red also has a few good artists under them (they manage a TON of indie labels, not just hip hop).

I like a lot of bluegrass and folk. Lots of classic and modern rock too. Xavier Rudd, Tom Waits, LCD Soundsystem, etc…

You might also really like Agents of Good Roots. They are from Richmond, VA. I believe. I’ve listened to them for at least a decade now.

He has his own recording label called Ironingboard Records.
And he came out with the album "In The House of Stone and Light" in ’94.
But now he has a new joint called "In The Temple of the Muse". All new stuff! :D

    A devoted fan! :D
(And his joints beat the tar outta anything Darius Rucker sings.)
