Have the Jonas Brothers been in any music videos for other artists?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under music videos artist | 4 Comments »

It doesnt have to be all of them. But has one brother been in a music video for another artist?

Like Lucas Till was in Taylor Swifts music video or Kellan Lutz in Hillary Duffs Music video…..

Thanks (:

Nope, but they have been in a Disney Change commercial with other artists, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Miley, etc. Well, actuallly Nick wasnt in it but in Miley’s 7 things music video, she showed a pic of him and her with his face scratched out or something. But no they are do practically everything together and their recent music video was Paranoid. :)

The Matches What Katie Said Music Video DIR CUT

DIRECTOR’S CUT
The Matches “What Katie Said” Music Video
directed by Lady Ransom
http://www.ladyransom.com

Lady Ransom was commissioned by The Matches to shoot the video for What Katie Said. The video was shot on January 13th and 14th of 2007. Because of low budget restraints, the post effects were started but never finished by an fx artist who was doing the work for free in his spare time. Unfortunately the visual fx artist committed to the job but could not finish, forcing a huge delay in release. The band in July of 2007 took over the post fx and Lady Ransom hired, Jason Forman to finish their director’s cut. The band has the same exact footage. Our director’s cut was finished mid February of 2008. This video isn’t leaked by any means, it’s sole purpose is to showcase the directors work, as negotiated with the label and the band. Because of the delay in release, and the timing it had with the band’s release of their new album and new music video, they weren’t going to release anything off the old album. The timing was terrible and the delay was extremely unfortunate. With respect of the new album coming out, Lady Ransom in good faith with Epitaph did not make public their Director’s cut until now. We hope however that the Matches fans out there like this video! The Matches are very talented and were great to work with and we wish them all the best luck with their new album. We had a whole crew of people working really hard on this video and for nothing at all, other than to make something fun and creative for everyone to enjoy. So with that said! ENJOY! and please check out our other videos!

Posted by admin on March 8th, 2010 and filed under music videos artist | 2 Comments »

my other question had to be by michael jackson.
this one is only limited to no screamo, heavy metal, etc. [nothing too crazy please]

SO know any good songs with good music videos? Please let me know(:

I’m feeling Alison Iraheta’s pop rock song "Friday I’ll Be Over U".

It’s fun and the bridge is great.

The video is also very colorful and vibrant.

Song? Catchy.

She finished fourth in last years American Idol.

What type of camcorder should I use for low budget music videos?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under music videos artist | 3 Comments »

I’m a music artist and I’d like to record my performances and upload them on YouTube and make low budget music videos as well. What would be a decent camcorder with good sound and picture quality between $75 – $150 ?

The flip will be fine, but if you are looking for something bigger with a better lens, check out the panasonic pv-gs range, they are cheap and very good cameras.

What is the term used for the initial idea of a music video that is given to the artist? Not "premise"

When choosing a music video the artist is given a bunch of ideas from directors. This idea has a specific term attached. What is that?

Treatment?

I’ve been trying to figure out if Anberlin is planning on making a music video for their latest album, Cities, but I don’t know where to find the information. Any recommendation? Not just Anberlin if possible, but all artists please.

Search for any artist in Foxytunes, it will come up with a page with lots of information and links.
http://www.foxytunes.com/planet

For Anberlin, the page is:
http://www.foxytunes.com/artist/anberlin
This links to the artist’s homepage and Myspace page, these two would be most likely to have information on upcoming videos. Hope that helps!

Who pays for the singer’s music videos: the artist or the label?!?

Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under music videos artist | 2 Comments »

The label covers all of the direct costs involved in recording and promoting a band, including music videos. These days, though, artists often have to surrender the rights to music they create. The label makes all of the money from album sales and performances, and pays a portion back to the artist. So, it is really the artist who ends up paying for videos out of the profit that they make.

Big artists often pay more, to cover the small artists that don’t make it big. The record label covers their music videos as well, but the low profit return on the sales of the smaller artists means that the label needs to make up the difference by taking more profit from the big artists.
