What misconceptions does society have about music/artists/genres?

Posted by admin on January 18th, 2011 and filed under music artists | 2 Comments »

I need to write an argumentative essay about misconceptions that society has on a certain topic (music/artists/genres/anything else music related) and then reveal what I believe to be true.

What misconceptions does society have about music/artists/genres?

Many people thinks that great looks makes a good artist.

They forgot there’s a huge difference between a model and a true artist.

Artist is all about talent and creativity, and these qualities seems to be taking a back seat lately.

Everyone says that modern day music artists suck?

Posted by admin on December 16th, 2010 and filed under music artists | 5 Comments »

Everyone comments on videos like lady gaga and says that mj is the king and she sucks. Well here’s news: Michael Jackson is dead!!! Sure Justin beiber is no Elvis presly. But why does that mean that their music sucks? I want 1 good reason why all the new artists suck.

It sucks because he makes dumb songs saying "Baby, baby, baby, oh" and just keeps making music about teenage love and other nonsense. Not saying he’s not talented, but his music sucks and is only deemed good by teenage girls. He is a fad so I really don’t care.

Lady Gaga is talented but that doesn’t mean she’s going to be around long either. Only time will tell. I think not. People always get into a frenzy when a new artist comes out and then they go away. It’s a cycle.

What are some music artists similar to Buddy Holly?

Posted by admin on December 10th, 2010 and filed under music artists | 2 Comments »

Hi. I am 15 and am really getting into music from the 1900′s. My favorite artist is Buddy Holly. I also like Jerry Lewis and The Beatles. Can anyone recommend me some music? Thanks.

Great to see another 15 year old (or any teenager really) taking an interest in that era of music- 50′s, 60′s etc. I love Buddy Holly and most definitely The Beatles! Amazing they were, simply brilliant. Why don’t you try Ritchie Valens? Not the same as Buddy or The Beatles but he had some great songs. He died in the same plane crash as Holly but I bet you knew that already.
Ooh and what about Eddie Cochran and the King himself, Elvis Presley! :D
And take a look at Chuck Berry. He was amazing! Hope this helped a bit! x

How much money do music artists make off per album sold?

Posted by admin on December 8th, 2010 and filed under music artists | 1 Comment »

What is the range of money that is paid out to music artists for each album sold? Is it like $.50 $1 $5? Five dollars sounds extreme but a few types of genres have up and coming artists that probably make close to that. Then if the artist is commercially and socially popular then they make money as a brand. But what is the range and average of paid per album sale?

Depends on many variables like how many songs are on this album and how much CD’s to put the music on. Stuff like that.

How can I keep up with my favorite music artists?

Posted by admin on December 6th, 2010 and filed under music artists | 4 Comments »

I love my music and I’m constantly online looking on websites for newest releases coming out and who’s releasing those albums and mix-tapes. Is there a website or a way that I can keep track of these artist without having to watch TV, constantly search online through thousands of songs, etc. I would like to receive e-mails or text messages. Thank you, 5 stars if you can answer my question.

Most music artists have Facebook pages, that give you the latest on them, most of them also have twitter, so that’s a very good way to keep up with them. I daily go to a website called hotnewhiphop.com it usually gives you the latest. Uh, and if your not a guy who needs to get them right away at the very day theres Ping on iTunes. It’s a new feature that just came out for the new version of iTunes.

Hope I Helped.

What music artists/celebrities do women ages 24-35 like?

Posted by admin on December 4th, 2010 and filed under music artists | 4 Comments »

I am doing research for an advertising course and my part requires determining which music artists/celebrities women in the 24-35 age group like, in order to figure out an endorsement best suited for that age group for JCPenney. Thanks !

I’m a woman in that age group and my favorites in music are Sara Barielles, Kate Voegele, David Gray, and Mandy Moore; in TV: Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, and the rest of the Glee cast; in movies: Drew Barrymore, Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston (though I guess she’d be TV too b/c she was on Friends), Taye Diggs, Jim Carrey, and Leonardo DiCaprio; in theater: Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth.
