i just started to get into it and was wondering if anyone knew anyone really good artists

Yes! finally a good question! ok heres some awesome bands

Arctic Monkeys, Albert Hammond Jr., The Beatles, Beck, Cake, Coldplay, Fratellis, Jack Johnson, Jet, The Killers, MGMT, Modest Mouse, Nirvana, Oasis, Queens of the Stone Age, RHCP, The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, The Vines, Weezer, White Stripes, The Morning Benders, Little Joy and theres SO many more!!

Does that question sound weird? anyways…

I want something fresh, and pretty. I like guitar and piano ballads, especially acoustic.

If an indie’s artists first debut album is released (if the material is good and the recording is well) and the indie artist has a large budget for the project (over $500,000) and the right resources (reliable radio promoters, reliable publiscists, etc.) and has much knowledge of the music buisness (a couple years researching and talking with other indie artists on what works and what doesnt) can they essentially "hit it big"?

You do have a wonderful voice!

I don’t think an indie artist who is planning to release their first debut album should worry about "hitting it big." That’s sort of like a first time baseball player expecting to join the Yankees and win the World Series.

And I REALLY don’t think an indie artist that has not yet gained some experience performing and touring should even be releasing an album yet.

Take the suggestion of investing the $500,000 in a high yield account of some sort and use the interest to fund your education. By education I especially mean:

Write.
Take your songs to a Songwriter’s group for ESSENTIAL early critique (ex. http://www.ctsongs.com)

RE-write.
Use that helpful critique to re-tool those songs into real polished masterpieces.

Play.
Learn how to gig, and promote your gigs and tour and maintain your gear…

Practice.
Learn how to engage in disciplined, effective practice, hone your craft.

Experiment.
I believe all artists should always be pushing their boundaries. Try new sounds, listen to eclectic music, take trips and immerse yourself in the local art and culture, join musician’s groups and collaborate and study with others.

Learn.
Never ever stop learning. Go to music conferences, study online resources, attend school, teach yourself…

Take some time to do the above and then use all of it to craft an album that is truly a work of art… YOUR work of art. Then you’ll say:

"an indie’s artists first debut album is released (the material is INCREDIBLE and the recording is SUPERB)…"
