There was a blonde female artist who had a music video that began with her walking out of her house and was walking in the rain singing about a guy and her house fell down towards the end.
Thank you- Dido
Edit: Okay, maybe not. Just watched the video and there’s no rain in the video. Sorry.
In your opinion, what are some innovative music artists of the last 15 years who have had a positive influence on the music world? Not necessarily the top-selling artists.
For the rabid TD’ers around here, I’m thinking in terms of *influence*, not calling any of them "the greatest" or anything.
In roughly chronological order, limited mainly to rock music (1995-2010):
Radiohead
Brian Jonestown Massacre
Wilco
Morcheeba
Dandy Warhols
White Stripes
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Drive-By Truckers
The Strokes
Death Cab for Cutie
The Warlocks
Sigur Ros
M.I.A.
Opeth
TV on the Radio
Arcade Fire
LCD Soundsystem
edit:
Q; How can Nirvana, Soundgarden, Metallica, or Alice In Chains be considered one of the most important groups of the last 15 years? "Splain me that. Nirvana and Soundgarden broke up 16 years ago, Metallica’s albums of the last 20 years have been routinely dissed even by their acolytes, and Alice In Chains was getting ready to lose its lead singer 15 years ago.
If we’re talking about "influence", any band I mentioned has had other bands credit them.
To any budding or established country music artists. I’ve written the lyrics, I need you to write music for a song titled “I’m Country Through and Through”. Strange but true, I actually dreamed the main lyric of this song, that could bode well. If you are interested in viewing the full lyrics please contact me.
there are many people who are into country music .
Alright, I found this song last year by chance and I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, due to lack of space on my comp I decided to temporarily store it in my Ipod. Then due to some serious bad timing…someone decided it would be really awesome to permanently borrow said gadget. >:(
And I can only blame myself for not taking down the artist and song title…but that’s a different problem in need of an answer…O.o
Anywhooooo, I know it was a female artist with fair skin and long, I’m going to say black hair. (And NO it wasn’t Evanescence.) The entire music video was filmed underwater. The woman sang the lyrics (which, for the life of me, I cannot remember) and moved about rhythmically giving off a very Cirque Du Soleil meets Samara from the Ring vibe. The video consists of various closeups and mid-shots of the singer singing and swimming about..and yes she is fully clothed. I do believe at some point in the video she is wearing what looks to be a dark red kimono? If I remember correctly there is another woman in the video as well dressed in a lighter (pink?) kimono swimming about as well. She doesn’t pop up until the end of the video…well that’s if my photographic memory is correct & she’s in the video to begin with. Anyway the genre of the music I would say is Alternative/Electronic. Similar artists I can think of are Plumb and Imogen Heap. Oh, and I found the video on youtube. Dunno if that helps. I just pray to the guy upstairs someone has run across this song or vid as well.
Spankies Happy Helpers!!!
NOTE: It does kinda resemble the underwater scenes from Amy Lee’s "Gone Under" video. But of course…its not Evanescence. But the vid I’m looking for does not change its setting. It remains underwater.
Try Unlike Me by Kate Havnevik. This sounds close to what you described. You almost had it to point except for the lead singer, Kate, is not wearing a kimono, she is wearing a dress. Still it is red and there is another chick that shows up towards the end in a pink kimono. Your photographic memory must have gotten jumbled up.
I need to write an argumentative essay about misconceptions that society has on a certain topic (music/artists/genres/anything else music related) and then reveal what I believe to be true.
What misconceptions does society have about music/artists/genres?
Many people thinks that great looks makes a good artist.
They forgot there’s a huge difference between a model and a true artist.
Artist is all about talent and creativity, and these qualities seems to be taking a back seat lately.
I love her music, especially her latest album Kaleidoscope Heart. Was wandering if anyone knows any other music artists similar to Sara Bareilles style of music that I may like?
Yael Naim
Julieta Venegas
Lily Allen
Yelle
Tristan Prettyman
Sleater-Kinney

There is this music video I saw on Logo’s New Now Next. The video had different people (shown one at a time) wearing a red beanie and a green sweater ( I think thats right…). Well, they were all wearing the same outfit as the singer anyway… Its a male artist…

There is a music video that involves a girl singing in like a cafe or coffee shop and she starts singing and all the sudden everyone gets up and starts Dancing. It’s a fairly new song but I’m not familiar with the artist by I really want the song. Anyone know?
Its not rap… It’s more pretty and blusey or maybe kinda folk. It’s not lady gaga or beyonce… But I do think the girl is dark complected
Im looking for a video in which this artist did a dancing battle with guys in the desert and both had wooden sticks in the choreography. It was a long time ago. Between 98 to 2001!
I believe you are talking about Mya’s "Case of the Ex"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4yp0_MoAlI
